Goddess: Charity Chicks

This week's "goddess" is actually a few "goddesses" who had the creativity and the bravery to start an organization... a brand new organization... to help the downtrodden in their local community. A few years ago, a group of women came together and realized that something in their community was needed. Many religious organizations existed for women to join and serve the poor. Many society groups existed for wealthier women to join and serve the poor. The ladies love that these things exist... but they wanted something different. Something where all women could belong, regardless of religion or socioeconomic class. A mixed up, fun group of ladies with one goal: to improve the lives of the less fortunate in their community.

And so Charity Chicks was born!

Don't you just love that name? Every year, the Chicks take applications from local non-profits. Then they vote and decide which organization that will serve for that year. The women organize to give their money and their service to uplifting people in their community who need help. This year they are serving the Community Care Center, which is a free medical and dental clinic.

I can't think of anything better than an group of women joining their hearts and minds for the improvement of their community. You GO, Chicks! you are truly goddesses! Thank you for your service, and may your actions inspire acts of kindness and hope throughout your community!
